At Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht we have more than 15 years’ experience of running a highly specialised Parkinson’s Centre for the rehabilitation of all different types of the Parkinson’s Syndrome. We have highly specialised treatment pathways for the following symptoms: on-off movement disorders, dyskinesia, pain management, unsteady gait, speech and swallowing disorders and many more. Our doctors, nurses and therapists work exclusively with Parkinson patients and therefore have very specific competencies and experience in the field.

When do you need specialized inpatient Parinson's Rehabilitation?

  • If an out-patient treatment setting is not possible
  • If on-off movement disorders or dyskinesia appear
  • If you have strong side effects from your medication (e.g. hallucination, blood pressure fluctuation)
  • Gait uncertainty and falls
  • Swallowing disorders
  • Acute worsening of your Symptoms
  • If you are planning treatment with a DBS (deep brain stimulator) or a medication pump or new adjustment are needed

Prof. Dr. med. Carsten Möller



Internship at Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry in Martinsried (D) and University Hospital Grosshadern (Munich). Subsequently, postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurobiology at Stanford University. Special training in neurology at Philipps-Universität Marburg (D), still holding there an extraordinary professorship. Since 2010 in Switzerland, first as senior consultant at Neurocentro della Svizzera Italiana, currently as deputy Medical Director at Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht.

Dr. med. Matthias Oechsner



Matthias Oechsner was born in Munich, 1963, where he also grew up. He earned his medical degree at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich in 1989. His further education to become a medical specialist for Neurology took place at the Max-Planck-Institute for psychiatry in Munich and at the Neurological University Clinic of Hamburg-Eppendorf. Since 25 years Dr. Oechsner works for different Clinics in the sector of movement disorders and Parkinson’s Disease. Since 2011 he is in position of the Head of the Parkinson’s Centre of the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht. His main concern is with the treatment of motoric and non-motoric intricacies of the Parkinson’s Disease with innovative therapy possibilities such as deep-brain-stimulation and medical-pumps.
