Dr. med. Daniel Zutter - Chief Physician and Medical Director

Daniel Zutter was born in Basel in 1963. As a student he worked part-time in his father's advertising agency and passed his state exam in 1991 at the University of Basel.

After training as a specialist in internal medicine, he completed a second specialist training as a neurologist at the Neurological University Clinic at the Inselspital in Bern, Switzerland.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Zutter has been working in the field of neurorehabilitation as a senior physician in various reowned clinics in Switzerland. In 2008, he was appointed head physician and medical director of the Rehabilitation Clinic Zihlschlacht.

His main interest within neurorehabilitation is the treatment of cognitive disorders and the use of computer-assisted therapy devices (robotics, telerehabilitation).

Daniel Zutter lives near Zihlschlacht and is the father of 2 children. His hobbies are collecting medical history books, piano and sports with his family. He's fluent in German, Italian, English and French

Dr. med. Stefan Schuko - Head Physician Private Clinic

Stefan Schuko was born in 1971 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. After his state exam in 1994, he started working as a neurologist at the University of Almaty. In 1999, after moving to Germany, he worked for 2 years in a private neuro-cardio-orthopaedic rehabilitation clinic in Dresden. After moving to Switzerland, he completed his specialist training in neurology at the specialist neurological "Schmieder Clinic" and has been working in neurorehabilitation for over 15 years.

Since 2016, he has been working as a senior physician at the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht and is responsible for the care of international patients and the expansion of activities with international partners in both the scientific and medical fields.

Stefan Schuko lives in Konstanz and is the father of two beautiful sons. His hobbies are playing tennis and the theatre. He's fluent in German, Russian and English.

Prof. Dr. med. Carsten Möller - Deputy Chief Physician / Head Parkinson's Ambulatory

Carsten Möller was born in Wuppertal, Germany. After studying human medicine at RWTH Aachen University, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry in Martinsried and at the Department of Neurology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He then spent 2 years as a post-doctoral researcher at Stanford University.

He completed his training as a specialist in neurology at the clinical centre of the Philipps University in Marburg, where he also habilitated and holds an associate professorship. He then worked at the Neurocentro della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano before moving to the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht in 2014.

His main interests are the medicinal and rehabilitative treatment of Parkinson's patients and research into innovative therapeutic approaches in neurorehabilitation. Carsten Möller lives in the canton of Fribourg. His hobbies are spending free time together with family and friends, travelling and literature. He's fluent in German, English, Italian and French.

Dr. med. Matthias Oechsner - Deputy Chief Physican / Head Parkinson's Centre

Matthias Oechsner was born in Munich in 1963, where he also grew up. He studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and passed the state exam in 1989.

He completed his further training as a specialist in neurology at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry in Munich and at the Neurological University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf.

For 25 years, Dr Oechsner has worked in various clinics in the field of neurological movement disorders and Parkinson's syndromes. Since 2011, he has been head of the Parkinson's Centre at the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht

His main interest is the treatment of motor and non-motor complications in Parkinson's disease also with innovative therapies such as deep brain stimulation and drug pumps. He's fluent in German and English.

Dr. med. Claudia Baum - Head Physician Multiple Sclerosis

Claudia Baum was born in Halle an der Saale in Germany. She studied at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and received her doctorate magna cum laude from Charité Berlin on the subject of post-stroke epilepsy. Before working at the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht, she worked for several years in Zurich at the Swiss Epilepsy Centre and the Psychiatric University Hospital.
Her main areas of interest are epileptology, multiple sclerosis and the treatment of spasticity (including botulinum toxin A or the use of intrathecal baclofen pumps). She has been working at the Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht since 2011. Claudia Baum lives in Zurich.

Hobbies: Art (Modern Art and Art Brut), sailing. She's fluent in English and German.
